What Custom Craftsmanship Includes

The work below is what we actually do, in Manor and across the Austin metro.

Custom carpentry and built-ins

Bookcases, benches, mudroom cubbies, window seats, built to the space rather than bought to fit it.

Trim, baseboard and crown molding

Run, mitred and finished so the joints stay closed.

Doors, casing and hardware

Hung square, cased clean, hardware that operates the way it should.

Mantels and feature walls

Fireplace surrounds, shiplap, board and batten, accent walls.

Porch and column repair

Common on the older homes in Taylor, Elgin and around the Georgetown square.

Make-ready packages for realtors

One call to get a listing photo-ready before it goes live.

What Affects the Price

Every job is quoted free and in writing before we start. These are the things that move the number.

  • Material species. Pine, poplar and stained-grade hardwood are three different budgets.
  • Complexity of the profile and how many inside and outside corners are involved.
  • Finish level — paint-grade versus stain-grade changes the prep entirely.
  • Site conditions. Out-of-square walls in older homes mean everything gets scribed.
  • Whether we are matching existing millwork, which takes longer than running new.

What Craftsmanship Customers Say

“Robert is a great carpenter. He built me a front desk for my salon all out of wood. I showed him an inspo pic and he created it. It’s lasted me over 5 years… He’s an honest guy and fair pricing.”

Anna AlvarezGoogle Review

“Over the years, he’s built shelves in our living room and dining room, my wife’s walk-in closet, and fixed our fence. The list goes on. There’s nothing he can’t handle.”

Darion WhittenGoogle Review

“If you’re needing your fence, deck, home siding or pergola put together, Robert is your guy! He’s done multiple projects for me and every single one has gone as smooth as you can hope for.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a make-ready package?

Everything a listing needs before photos: patch and paint, trim repair, door adjustments, fixture swaps, pressure washing and a punch list, done on a timeline that works around showings.

Can you match the existing trim in an older home?

Usually. Older profiles are often no longer stocked, so we either source the closest match or mill the profile to match what is there.

How fast can you turn a listing?

It depends on the list, but make-ready work gets scheduled around closing dates. Tell us the date and we will tell you honestly if we can hit it.

Do you paint as well as build?

Yes. Carpentry and finish painting are usually the same job for us.

Stain or paint?

Stain shows the grain and needs better material underneath. Paint hides more and costs less. We will tell you which the wood in front of us deserves.

Do you do commercial finish work?

Yes, including office and retail tenant finish-out.
